Silk, discovered in China approximately 2500 BC, is one of the oldest natural fibres known to man. From the woven cocoon of the mulberry bush silkworm (bombix mori), silk is an important source of protein that is abundantly rich in the amino acids used in production of cosmetic products. Through its nutritive and regenerative qualities, silk proteins incorporated in hair products will nourish the hair giving it both softness and shine. When added in body milks and lotions, it will moisturize the skin, leaving it soft and smooth.
